The China Anti-Cult Association (CACA) used its annual meeting
in Beijing yesterday to pledge further efforts to combat cults.
Vice-President Xu Shanyan of the China Association for Science
and Technology said at the meeting the association, a non-government
organization, should fully recognize the protracted and complex
nature of the fight against cults.
The organization should unite people from all walks of life
in promoting scientific and humane principles and fighting
superstition, pseudo science and other ignorant ideas, Xu
said.
He also urged efforts to educate people to understand the
nature of cults.
CACA, a non-profit group, is composed of volunteers from
scientific, legal, religious and media circles.
