China's
top think tank, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS),
has established a web page to combat cults and expose their
evil intentions and activities.
The
web page covers six parts, such as the theories of Marxism,
atheism, and materialism, analysis and exposure of the Falun
Gong cult, and a general survey of cults in other countries.
Most
of the content at the page, containing 540,000 Chinese words,
has been written or compiled by scholars and experts with
the CASS.
The
research fellows at the academy already make public their
up-to-date studies through their website: www.cass.net.cn.
According to CASS sources, the monthly hits for the website
have reached more than 500,000.
China
has been waging a prolonged campaign against Falun Gong, an
evil cult that has disturbed social stability, swindled people'
s money, and resulted in many deaths among its practitioners.
The
People's Daily, the leading newspaper in China, published
a story Tuesday about how Falun Gong members organized subversive
activities in the national capital on the eve of the last
Spring Festival, along with a commentary warning not to treat
Falun Gong lightly.
