Jurists in Beijing called for the country to use the law as a weapon to strike against the Falun Gong cult Sunday.

The jurists said at a meeting sponsored by the China Law Society here that ringleader Li Hongzhi and the Falun Gong cult have violated the criminal law of the country by instigating cult members to burn themselves in Tian'anmen Square.

They called for the country to sternly punish the persons who plotted the incident from behind the scenes according to the criminal law and relevant regulations.
