Li Hongzhi & "Falun Gong"

Endangering Society

According to Ren, heretical cults are usually compact organizations with their founders at the core. They carry our surreptitious activities, confront the society in extreme ways and bring harm to society.

He said that though Li Hongzhi had said time and time again that Falun Gong was not an organization, and that it was only "a spontaneous gathering of practitioners", but in fact, headed by Li, the Falun Dafa Research Society was a compact organization which had 39 general stations, 1,900 instruction centers, and 28,263 practicing places in all China's provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities, once controlling 2.1 million practitioners.

According to related departments, the Falun Gong organization had a complete set of organizational system. Li Hongzhi formulated a series of regulations and rules, including the Statutes of Falun Gong in China and the Regulations on the Passing On of Falun Dafa. The Falun Dafa Research Society had different groups in charge of liaison, theory, translations and handling daily affairs. Strict management was exercised on the establishment, merging or canceling of teaching centers in different localities, and the examination, appointment and removal of the heads of these centers. Falun Gong was surreptitious in organization, liaison, activities and plotting disturbances. People outside the organization, even ordinary practitioners, would not know what was going on. Li's secret instructions from abroad could reach all the practitioners in a few days' time by means of Internet and other modern communications equipment, greatly relying on Falun Gong's compact organizational system.

It was reported that key members of the Falun Gong organization, like spies, discussed important issues in cars in order to escape from being detected by police. The illegal activities of besieging State departments were organized even more carefully. Practitioners from different localities, not knowing each other, were told to wear Falun Gong badges or hold a book on Falun Gong in their hands as signal. In this way, they showed the way to meet each other and stand in order without talking.

Ren said that actually, almost all founders of heretical cults have political ambitions. Some of them have a definite target at the beginning, while others show their swelling ambitions when their forces get strong. They usually are not consented with their ruling in their "secret domain", and attempt to exercise control over their countries and even the world. To realize the political ambition, they either use the lives of their followers as sacrifice or political stake, or conduct crazy activities that counter the society and mankind to surprise the world.

For example, said Ren, Shoko Asahara, founder of Aum Shinrikyo in Japan, had tried to enter the political center of Japan by means of election. Having suffered failure, he set off poisonous gas at subway stations in Tokyo, inducing 5,500 casualties.

Li Hongzhi and some key members of the Falun Gong organization had held similar activities. They induced Falun Gong practitioners to gradually isolate themselves from society and reality in mind and action, and finally led them to a road against society. Since August 1996, there have been 78 incidents in which Li gathered more than 300 people in illegal demonstrations. 0n Apri1 25, 1999, Li even directed practitioners from all parts of the country to besiege Zhongnanhai, seat of China's Central Government. It was reported that a key member of the Falun Gong organization said before the action, "It's best to see some bloodshedding."

Removing the 'Malignant Tumor'

According to Wu, heretical cults that have been occurring in Western countries since the 1970s have aroused close attention fr0m their governments. People from all walks of life have voiced strong demands to combat and ban heretical cults because their rampant evil activities have seriously harmed society. Any responsible government will not allow heretical cults to harm people's lives and destroy public order and social stability.

Wu gave an example of Branch Davidian in the United States. The occurrence of the notorious cult, sponsoring and forcing its followers to five in groups, angered people in the country, and they asked the government to interfere. In a routine investigation of the organization by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the armed forces of the cult, using stolen weapons, blockaded the cult members' gathering place for a week, preventing FBI personnel from getting near. The US Government finally drove away the heretics with armed police.

Wu said that facts have proven the Falun Gong organization, established in the name of religion and qigong, deified the founder, hoodwinked and deceived others by means of fabricating and spreading superstitious fallacies, recruited and controlled its members and endangered society. It advocated heresy, followed crooked ways and gathered evil forces. It is nothing but an illegal organization and also a heretical cult. The Chinese Government and people will never allow it to exist.

"Mercy on heretical cults is trampling on the citizens' human rights," Wu concluded.
