Opposing Society in the Name of ``Defending the Law''

The phrase ``defending the law'' often appears in books on ``Falun Gong,'' and Li Hongzhi maliciously calls acts of ``defending the law'' ``golden opportunities'' for practitioners to improve their magic powers and reach a higher plane of existence.

What have been the results of ``defending the law''? Practitioners have been incited to make trouble everywhere and harass the government and mass media, with distinctive anti-government and anti-social characteristics. Out of ulterior motives, Li Hongzhi tries every means to slander the roles of the government and the legal order. All his words and acts not only deny the basic moral order, the value of the legal order of human society and the progress of human civilization, but also oppose society, and set the ``Falun Dafa'' and acts of ``defending the law'' against the legal order of society.

If we had allowed ``Falun Gong'' to spread unchecked, it would have seriously infringed upon the social order, and undermined the country's stability and the people's happy life.

In addition, the ``Falun Dafa Research Society'' illegally organized by Li Hongzhi was the national supreme organ of ``Falun Gong,'' and Li Hongzhi himself was chairman. The ``Falun Dafa Research Society'' set up 39 general instruction centers, 1,900 instruction centers and 28,000 practice sites throughout the country. The ``Falun Gong'' organization was actually a tool used by Li Hongzhi to conduct various illegal activities. Li Hongzhi and the ``Falun Gong'' organization under his control would not allow anyone to express opinions different from those of Li Hongzhi and ``Falun Gong.'' Whenever a person opposed Li Hongzhi and ``Falun Gong,'' the ``Falun Gong'' organization would incite practitioners to gather and jointly attack him or her. This fully shows that the ``Falun Dafa Research Society'' is an illegal reactionary organization with a well-knit organization and strong political purposes, aiming at opposing society and the government. The ``Falun Dafa'' is the supreme program for the actions of this reactionary organization.

It is clear that Li Hongzhi and ``Falun Gong'' fabricated by him have a sinister political motive. If we did not punish it according to law, we would not be carrying out our responsibility to society.
