Li Hongzhi Is Very Interested
in Politics

Li Hongzhi has always said that he is ``not interested in
politics.'' However, after I watched the relevant news released
by CCTV, my conclusion is: Li Hongzhi is very interested
in politics.
According to one news item, the public security organs cracked
a case of stealing and revealing state secrets recently,
and all the suspects are members of the ``Falun Gong'' organization.
It has been proved by investigations that, in accordance
with the purposes and planning of Li Hongzhi and his ``Falun
Dafa Research Society,'' the culprits spied out and stole
59 secret documents of the Central Committee of the Communist
Party of China (CPC) and the Chinese Government within several
months, including 20 top-secret documents, 24 confidential
documents and 15 classified documents; and sent 10 secret
state documents abroad.
On April 25, 1999, after the illegal gathering organized
by the ``Falun Gong'' organization outside Zhongnanhai,
Li Hongzhi and the ``Falun Dafa Research Society'' instructed
the local ``Falun Gong'' organizations to steal relevant
documents so as to ``know the enemy and know yourself,''
and continued to plan, organize and incite ``Falun Gong''
practitioners to purposely oppose the Communist Party of
China and the Chinese Government. For instance, on April
29, ``after Ge Xiulan, a practitioner, listened to a speech
made by a leader of the CPC Central Committee on how to
handle the `Falun Gong' issue,'' she sent the relevant minutes
to Yao Jie, a core member of the ``Falun Gong'' organization.
Yao Jie lost no time faxing the contents to the ``Falun
Gong'' organization and Li Hongzhi's trusted followers in
the United States. In May, in accordance with the instructions
of Li Tianmin, head of the Weifang ``Falun Gong'' instruction
center. Sun Xiaomei, a core member of the ``Falun Gong''
organization in Weifang, Shandong Province, asked others
to steal the document on ``Falun Gong'' printed and issued
by the office of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee.
Upon receiving the document, Li Tianmin had it printed and
distributed far and wide. In addition, the Weifang ``Falun
Gong'' instruction center drafted ``An Open Letter to the
Highest State Leader.'' In mid-June, Chen Ling and Liu Jinghang,
two practitioners in Beijing, received the minutes of the
speeches made by CPC Central Committee leaders on handling
and solving the ``Falun Gong'' issue and stolen by a practitioner
named Liu Yu, and hand-carried them to Yao Jie. In addition,
according to Yao Jie's instructions that ``upon receiving
the document of the CPC Central Committee, you should immediately
send it out through the Internet,'' Chen Ling asked Feng
Lei, another practitioner, to send the minutes out through
the Internet. Meanwhile, instructed by Duan Rongxin, a leader
of the Shijiazhuang instruction center, Feng Xinmu borrowed
the document of the CPC Hebei Provincial Committee on handling
the ``Falun Gong'' issue three times, and in accordance
with the contents of the document, he drafted ``An Open
Letter to the Disciples of the `Falun Dafa' in Shijiazhuang."
Both the document and the letter were sent abroad through
the Internet. In late June, Liu Ying, a practitioner in
Sichuan, faxed the circular of the Leshan Military Sub-region
on ferreting out ``Falun Gong'' practitioners and solving
the ``Falun Gong'' issue to Yao Jie and the core members
of the ``Falun Gong'' organization in Australia, Haikou,
Chengdu and the United States, as well as to Li Hongzhi.
In June, the ``Falun Gong'' organization also stole the
``Important Press and Publication Conditions'' from the
Press and Publication Administration and other confidential
documents from the Ministry of Public Security.
What did Li Hongzhi and his ``Falun Gong'' organization
do after receiving these confidential documents? They misrepresented
the meaning of these internal documents, and then spread
them widely through their contacts and the Internet, thus
inciting a large number of practitioners who did not know
the truth to provoke incidents (they constantly besieged
and attacked press units, harassed Party and government
organs, and even organized large-scale gatherings), and
disturb public order. They tried to create a situation in
which "laws were helpless and orders could hardly be
carried out in the face of a large number of opponents,"
so as to put pressure on the CPC and the Chinese Government.
For instance, after Li Chang and other core members of ``Falun
Gong'' stole the ``Important Press and Publication Conditions,''
they compiled the ``News in Brief from the Falun Dafa Research
Society'' to incite practitioners, and organized 21 well-known
personages, experts and scholars to jointly write a letter
to CPC Central Committee leaders and persons in charge of
the State Physical Culture Administration, accusing press
units of making ``unjust reports'' on ``Falun Gong,'' trying
to provoke an incident. After they stole the secret documents
from the Public Security Bureau, Li Chang compiled another
``News in Brief from the Falun Dafa Research Society,''
saying that the circular of the Ministry of Public Security
``has set a precedent for rumor mongering and mudslinging
in the form of a document and infringing upon the legal
rights and interests of citizens throughout the country,''
proposing that ``if necessary, a `Falun Gong' hearing to
be attended by people from all walks of life should be held
in Beijing,'' and organizing ``Falun Gong'' practitioners
to submit a petition. Li Chang made a special report on
the matter to Li Hongzhi, who urged him to ``write the petition
immediately.'' In accordance with Li Hongzhi's instruction,
Li Chang gathered Wang Zhiwen, Ji Liewu, Yao Jie and other
core members of the ``Falun Gong'' organization to discuss
how to write the petition to CPC Central Committee leaders.
Li Chang said, ``Now the government has determined the nature
of `Falun Gong,' and is collecting evidence of its crimes.
We should organize retired cadres and famous personages
from scientific and technological, cultural, law and educational
circles to sign a petition to the CPC Central Committee.''
Then, the ``Falun Dafa Research Society'' organization had
more than 100 celebrated figures from scientific and technological,
cultural, law and educational circles and some retired cadres
sign the petition. Li Hongzhi received the people who signed
the letter in person, and made a speech to ``encourage''
them. Later he said proudly that ``it was really well done.''
According to mass media reports, from April 1998 to April
25, 1999, under the leadership of Li Hongzhi and the ``Falun
Dafa Research Society,'' ``Falun Gong'' organizations throughout
the country besieged Party and government organs and media
units several dozen times. On April 25, 1999, they incited
more than 10,000 ``Falun Gong'' practitioners to besiege
Zhongnanhai, pointing their spearhead directly at the Party
Central Committee and the State Council. After April 25,
the ``Falun Gong'' organization stirred up trouble all over
the country, and organized incidents more frequently. In
less than three months, over 300 such incidents occurred.
This shows that Li Hongzhi and his ``Falun Gong'' organization
are not only very interested in politics, but also have
a clear political agenda.
