Invoices show Li took medicine

CHANGCHUN (Xinhua) _ Invoices showing different types of medicine taken by Li Hongzhi, founder of the illegal Falun Gong organization, have been discovered in Changchun, capital of Northeast China's Jilin Province.

The 48 invoices for buying medicine from hospitals were submitted by Li himself for reimbursement when he was working in the Changchun Foodstuff and Edible Oil Supply Corporation from 1982 to 1992.

The invoices showed that Li Hongzhi went to seven hospitals to see doctors during that period.

One of Li's fallacies is that Falun Gong practitioners should not take medicine even if they are ill.

Cheated and confused by Li's theories, some practitioners refused to go to hospital for medical treatment when they suffered illnesses, and a number of them died.

In another development, concerned departments throughout China have launched an intensive crackdown on Falun Gong publications, cassette tapes and videotapes since the Chinese Government banned the illegal organization last Thursday.

A circular issued by the Press and Publications Administration in Beijing stated that no publications related to Falun Gong can be reprinted, copied, or distributed, and that any publications on Falun Gong that appear on the market will be confiscated immediately.

Also, a number of websites have been set up to criticize Falun Gong and its fallacies, including one at http://ppflg.China.com.cn where users can access information on the Chinese Government's circulars, announcements, and decisions on Falun Gong.
