Li's evil political ambitions
condemned
THE
head of the Falun Gong cult, Li Hongzhi, is a man with evil
political ambitions, according to Professor Li Chongfu of
the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
When
Li Hongzhi said no government can save the world, but only
his Falun Dafa can, he explicitly exposed his evil anti-government
purposes, Li said.
Li
and his research group also discovered that Li Hongzhi's
ideas and actions were compatible with his political ambitions
and purposes.
First,
Li Hongzhi used terms such as "trueness, benevolence,
and forbearance" to control and make fools of people.
Second,
Falun Gong has a large and tight illegal organization as
an instrument and base to realize its political purpose.
Third,
Li Hongzhi said he is the only master of Falun Dafa in order
to dominate and govern his followers.
Fourth,
Li Hongzhi used his Falun Gong cult to stir up followers
to attack the government, newspapers and TV stations with
the purpose of pressuring the Party and the government.
China
Youth Daily reported yesterday that Li Hongzhi, who said
he had never gone to hospital, is a liar.
The
People's Hospital of Northeast China's Jilin Province produced
medical records which described the whole process of Li's
appendectomy in 1984.
Li
was transferred from the clinic to the in-patient department
of the hospital after being diagnosed with impetuous appendicitis
on July 8, 1984.
Li
Yingjie, a doctor who has now retired from the hospital,
performed the operation, which was successful, according
to the medical records.
The
record also noted other details including the medicines
Li took and the results of all the laboratory tests he underwent,
the newspaper said.
Li
paid 56.59 yuan (US$6.8) for medical treatment and operation
costs during his 10-day stay in the hospital, according
to the record.
"I
have never gone to hospital and I have never fallen ill,"
Li said during an interview with a US newspaper last month.
Li
said Falun Gong helps people to reach a higher moral level
and finally detach themselves from reality.
Li
said people who practise Falun Gong do not need to see doctors
or take medicine even when they are ill. He said Falun Gong
will take care of the illness as long as people practise
it.
The
Public Security Department of Jilin Province carried out
an investigation into the medical expenses of Li and his
family from 1982 to 1992 with the assistance of Changchun
Cereals and Edible Oil Supply Corp, the company Li used
to work for, People's Daily reported last Wednesday.
The
survey found 48 documents referring to reimbursement for
medical treatment made out in Li's name.
China
News Service reported yesterday that local police have found
a luxurious apartment with garage owned by Li.
The
apartment is located in the Kaiyun Community of Chaoyang
District in Changchun, capital of Jilin.
Li
bought the 145-square-metre apartment in 1994, real estate
managerial personnel confirmed.
Such
an apartment would be unaffordable for Li at that time as
his salary was still comparatively low.
Luxury
utilities found in the apartment included imported electrical
appliances, expensive furniture, jewellery and modern office
facilities.
Books
and notebooks related to Falun Gong were also found in the
apartment.
Xinhua reported yesterday that many former practitioners
say Falun Gong's claim to heal the sick is false, and they
have vowed never again to have anything to do with the cult.
Gao
Qingyin, deputy chief of the Falun Gong general instruction
station in East China's Anhui Province, revealed that a
fellow practitioner suffered from a brain haemorrhage in
the second half of 1994 and died soon after.
