Li
Ting, a well-educated 17-year-old middle school student, used
to have a cheerful disposition, but he changed a lot after
he became obsessed with "Falun Gong" in 1997. Often, he would
not speak a word the whole day and stayed at home practicing
"Falun Gong." When his parents told him that his study should
not be affected by practicing "Falun Gong," Li Ting thought
that they were demons who would prevent him from achieving
"all-round fulfillment and becoming Buddha." On the morning
of March 20, 1999, Li Ting thought that he had opened his
celestial eyes and become a Buddha. So he killed his parents
with a knife when they were still sound asleep in bed.
Li
Hongzhi said: "The final goal of practicing 'Falun Gong' is
to attain the Way and fulfillment and become Buddha." "Demons
harm Dafa and your cultivation." "There are demons everywhere
in the human world." "They (meaning those who try to stop
his followers practicing 'Falun Gong') are demons because
they are very meddlesome. Your family may have been controlled
by a demon." "So the worst demons should be killed." Li Hongzhi
also said that "if you have injured others in order to attain
'all-round fulfillment,' you can repay them for their kindness
after attaining all-round fulfillment."
