One of the Major Characteristics
of a Cult Is: Falsity
Now,
"Falun Dafa" has been declining, with only a few believers
and more and more followers realizing their errors and mending
their ways. Why? Because it is a pseudoscience and a cult.
As
compared with science and truth, the most important characteristic
of pseudoscience and cults is one word: "falsity."
As
for science, the experimental results that prove a science
may be repeated. However, when the pseudoscience of a cult
is repeated, many loop-holes appear. For instance, what
is the "Wheel of Law" ("Falun") in Li Hongzhi's "Falun Dafa"?
He should present an entity or a figure. However we are
afraid that Li Hongzhi himself does not know what "Falun"
is. Whenever people want to test "Falun Gong" through scientific
experiments to see what it really is, Li Hongzhi always
plays the same old trick, jumping from one subject to another.
When unable to avoid giving an answer, he defames science,
saying that today science is not science at all, or science
is "evil."
Science
has a positivist spirit, but pseudoscience, superstition
and cults absolutely do not. When anyone wants to test a
thing that does not exist at all, the cat will be let out
of the bag, and Li Hongzhi and his followers will come to
their end. When people want to get to the bottom of the
matter, they will come out with all kinds of fallacies.
Examples of this have been found when people have wanted
to test "Falun Gong." On these occasions, Li Hongzhi would
say: If this is done, the power achieved by practicing "Falun
Gong" will disappear, and taking medicines will make "your
practice useless."
Science
also needs the spirit of incredulity. However, superstition,
pseudoscience and cults only talk big and tell lies. If
anyone has some doubt (rather than a serious doubt), Li
Hongzhi would try to turn his or her head, saying: "You
don't have enough power," or "Your heavenly eyes have not
opened yet," thus making the person feel confused. The more
confused he or she is, the better. For instance, "Master"
Li always says to the people who ask him for "law" and "power":
"You have not achieved enough power, so you won't understand
what I say." A few words-"You don't understand"-will immediately
throw the person into a labyrinth.
In
addition, science also needs reason. However, superstition,
pseudoscience and cults make use of people's irrational
blindness to reach the founder's evil purposes. For instance,
Li Hongzhi often says irresponsibly that people will become
"Buddhas" or "immortals" through practicing "Falun Gong,"
thus making those who are afraid to deal with the natural
law of birth, age, illness and death vie with each other
to jump into Li Hongzhi's traps while he himself laughs
in his sleeve.
However,
you cannot wrap fire in paper: Lies will finally be laid
bare, and people will eventually see through all false things.
