Fabricating Lies to Deceive People, Only to Lose Face

Li Hongzhi. who deceives people with a series of lies, has the notorious reputation of being a master trickster. Over the past few years, he has not only gained American dollars and luxurious residences, but also a reputation for cheating -- from Changchun to Beijing, and from China to Europe, the United States and Australia. He has instigated his followers to lobby in several large American cities through various mean tricks to get these cities to celebrate ``Li Hongzhi Day."

However, one may deceive others for a short period of time, but one cannot deceive them for ever. And one can only deceive some people, but not all the people. Although he racks his brains to cheat people, the master trickster has become a person hated by everyone, as his lies have been thoroughly exposed. In China, those who were deceived by him have made clean breaks with ``Falun Gong.'' Meanwhile, in foreign countries, sincere people have gradually had their eyes opened to Li Hongzhi's false, evil and ugly true self, and now understand and support the just stand of the Chinese government in banning the cult. Earlier, some American local governments, including the ones in Baltimore, Los Angeles, Washington D.C. and the state of Maryland, wrote to the Chinese embassy in Washington, offering apologies for honoring Li Hongzhi when they were unaware of the truth, and pointing out that Li Hongzhi had instigated his followers to gain such honors by cheating. As the news spread, ``Falun Gong'' became self-contradictory, and found it hard to make its own case. The hysteric ``Falun'' network has also cooled down.

Li Hongzhi originally wanted to take the opportunity of the world's attention being on the WTO summit in Seattle to regain his lost prestige, but he failed miserably the city authorities of Seattle have also rescinded the honorific title conferred on him. As the saying goes, ``A person lifts a rock only to drop it on his own toes,'' Li Hongzhi, who has fabricated a series of lies to deceive people, has been abandoned by the masses of the people.
