The "Falun Gong" Cult Led
to Violence and Ruined Lives
1.
In the evening of February 6, 2000, Yuan Runtian, a "Falun
Gong" practitioner of Panyu City in Guangdong Province,
broke into the house of a fellow villager named Huang Daisheng,
and tried to kill him with a knife. Yuan later said that
she was then possessed by delusions after practicing "Falun
Gong," and previously she had dreamed many times of
being raped by master Li Hongzhi and many other men, including
Huang Daisheng.
2.
On December 23, 1999, Zou Gang, a "Falun Gong"
practitioner who worked at the Heilongjiang Provincial Forest
Industry Bureau, stabbed his colleague L? Qingsheng to death,
and severely injured three other colleagues with a knife.
Later, Zou said that in his delusions after practicing "Falun
Gong," he heard Li Hongzhi repeatedly tell him to kill
his colleagues because they were in his way.
3.
On December 19, 1999, Jiang Wenli, a "Falun Gong"
ractitioner of Bengbu City in Anhui Province, obsessed by
delusions, severely injured her husband with an axe. Then
she fell on the floor, crying for Li Hongzhi to help her.
4.
On the morning of November 26, 1999, a "Falun Gong"
practitioner named Zhu Changjiu living in Renqiu City, Hebei
Province, killed his parents at home because they had burned
his "Falun Gong" books.
5.On
August 11, 1999, out of his belief in Li Hongzhi's preaching
about the "end of the world," Tang Zhihua, a farmer
and "Falun Gong" practitioner living in Qionglai
City in Sichuan Province, cut off his two-year-old son's
genitals with a kitchen knife.
6.
On March 20, 1999, Li Ting, an 18-year-old "Falun Gong"
practitioner of Chengde City, Hebei Province, stabbed his
parents to death. Later, he said that he believed his parents
were demons, and that he himself was a Buddha.
7.
On May 8, 1998, Wang Anshou, a "Falun Gong" practitioner
of Xintai City in Shandong Province, killed his father with
an iron spade because the latter had tried to persuade him
not to practice "Falun Gong."
8.
On January 7, 1999, Dong Ning, a "Falun Gong"
practitioner of Weihai City in Shandong Province, tried
first to commit murder and then suicide under the delusion
that this was the way to deliver himself and others from
torment, as preached by Li Hongzhi. Within two days, he
attempted to kill other people four times.
9.
On February 26, 1998, Wu Deqiao, a "Falun Gong"
practitioner of Wujiang City in Jiangsu Province, killed
his wife with a kitchen knife, thinking that he had become
a Buddha and that his wife was hampering his practicing
"Falun Gong."
10.
On August 23, 1996, Wang Xuezhong, a "Falun Gong"
practitioner of Jiahe County in Hunan Province, killed his
father with a knife, because he believed his father was
a demon.
11.
On July 17, 1999, Long Gang, a "Falun Gong" practitioner
of Shuangshi Township in Chongqing, committed suicide by
drowning himself in a river, carrying in his arms his six-year-old
son. Fortunately, the child was saved. His wife said, "Ever
since he started to practice 'Falun Gong', he thought he
was like a deity that could fly in the air."
12.
On November 6, 1998, Gao Encheng, a "Falun Gong"
practitioner of Kaixian County in Chongqing, jumped off
a four-story building, carrying his son in his arms. His
wife Li Xiaofen, who was also a "Falun Gong" practitioner,
believed that Li Hongzhi would come to save their lives.
Therefore she rejected the assistance of the neighbors.
As a result, Gao died but their son survived after emergency
rescue.
13.
On June 25, 1998, Yuan Yuge, a "Falun Gong" practitioner
of Renqiu City, Hebei Province, threw herself and her son
into the city moat, claiming that she was about to become
a Buddha.
14.
On June 5, 1999, a secondary school student surnamed Xu
in Linjiang City, Jilin Province, told her classmates that
"mankind is going to end in destruction and the Earth
is about to blow up," and that she "needs to feel
the doomsday of the world." On the same day, she bought
a big bottle of sleeping pills and shared them among a dozen
of her classmates. They each took some of the pills, trying
to commit suicide. Fortunately, a teacher discovered the
situation in time, and sent them to hospital for emergency
treatment. Thus, a tragedy was avoided.
So
far, over 1,600 "Falun Gong" practitioners have
died of practicing the cult's exercises, including suicides
and those who died of illness because they refused to see
a doctor or seek medical treatment; 651 people suffered
from mental disorder as a result of practicing "Falun
Gong"; and 14 were killed and 144 permanently disabled
by obsessed practitioners. Thousands of families now have
to live in misery and sorrow. Misled by Li Hongzhi's fallacies,
a number of "Falun Gong" practitioners, when falling
ill, refused to go to hospital for medical treatment or
to take medication. Some died tragically because of delayed
treatment. Many others suffered from mental disorders, some
even committing suicide, and some becoming brutal killers.
What is more tragic is that there were some victims who
blamed themselves for being not loyal enough to Li Hongzhi
while being tortured by illness and the danger of death.
